New Rochelle, NY (My Sportsbook) - Christina Kim shot a six-under-par 65 to take a one-shot lead over Siew-Ai Lim after round one of the Sybase Classic on Thursday.

Hee-Won Han, Miriam Nagl and Gloria Park share third place at four-under-par 67 at Wykagyl Country Club. Mi Hyun Kim, Paula Creamer, Heather Bowie, Soo-Yun Kang and Yu Ping Lin were two shots further back at two-under-par 69.

Kim took advantage of the par-five opening hole and left her second shot just short of the green. She chipped to six feet and converted the birdie try and added a birdie at the par-five third after her third shot stopped within 15 feet of the hole.

The 21-year-old hit a wedge to eight feet for a birdie at the par-four fifth and drained a five-foot putt at the sixth to make it two in a row. Kim found a bunker off the tee at the par-four eighth and left her second shot short en route to a bogey.

"No. 8 could have been a disaster, but I walked off with bogey," said Kim.

Kim responded on the inward half and hit an eight-iron to two feet for a tap- in birdie at the par-three 13th. She rolled in a 15-foot putt for a birdie at the par-four 14th and was on in two at the par-five 15th. Kim two-putted for her third consecutive birdie and parred her way in to secure the first-round lead.

"The way I see it, I am a quarter of the way through," said Kim, who earned her first career victory on the LPGA Tour at last year's Longs Drugs Challenge. "I have been very, very close to finding something within myself playing-wise the last several weeks. I am just happy to be where I am at right now."

Lim began her round on the back nine and tallied back-to-back birdies from the 14th. She found trouble with a bogey at the 18th, but countered with a birdie at the par-three second. Lim then birdied two in a row starting at the fourth and closed with a birdie at the par-four ninth to finish within one of Kim.

"I think this golf course is one that you need to keep yourself in position," said Lim. "I won't say I went out there with the mindset of attacking it, but more of just getting out there and putting myself in positions for good birdies and converting them."

Candie Kung, Jamie Hullett, Anna Acker-Macosko, Riko Higashio, Shani Waugh, Vicki Goetze-Ackerman, Sarah Lee and Jennifer Greggain share 11th place at one-under-par 70.
