New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New Jersey Nets will try to boost a sagging road record when they take the short trip through the Lincoln Tunnel to take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. New Jersey is just 4-7 on the road this season and has an 8-4 mark against its Eastern Conference rivals. The Nets are coming off a 101-91 road loss at Detroit. The Pistons' bench combined for 58 points to doom New Jersey. "It wasn't Rip Hamilton killing us and Ben Wallace getting 20 rebounds," said Nets coach Byron Scott. "Their bench just dominated us. Jon Barry had 12 points and Corliss Williamson and (Zeljko) Rebraca just killed us." Lucious Harris paced the Nets with 18 points, while Jason Kidd added 15 points and eight assists, but the Nets hurt themselves by missing 13 free throws. "We shot about the same number of attempts as them, but they made 10 more than we did and we lost by 10," Richard Jefferson said. "I'm not saying that's the only difference, but we definitely didn't help our situation." The Knicks have lost four of their last six games, most recently a 113-90 setback at the hands of the Boston Celtics. New York is 5-8 at home and has a 5-12 mark within the Eastern Conference. This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams. New Jersey won all four meetings last season including two at Madison Square Garden.
