Buenos Aires, Argentina (My Sportsbook) - Boca Juniors inked forward Santiago Silva from Italian side Fiorentina on Tuesday, but the Uruguayan will not be eligible to play in the upcoming Clausura season. Silva, 31, will be eligible for Copa Libertadores matches. Boca opens the Copa tournament Feb. 14 against Venezuela's Zamora. He spent just five months with Fiorentina, following a transfer from Argentine side Velez Sarsfield where he played from 2007-11 during a club career dating back to 1998. Because he started the Apertura season with Velez, rules prevent Silva from playing with Boca Juniors during the Clausura.
