Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday placed defenseman Chris Tamer on the injured reserve list with a sore back. The club also re-assigned center Per Svartvadet and goaltender Frederic Cassivi to the Chicago Wolves (AHL) and placed center Chris Herperger on injured reserve with a concussion. Tamer, who was selected by Atlanta in the 1999 expansion draft, was originally the Pittsburgh Penguin's fourth-round pick in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990. He played in 78 games for the Thrashers last season and had three goals and three assists. Svartvadet also played in 78 games for Atlanta last season, scoring three goals with 12 assists. Herperger played in 72 games last season for the Ottawa Senators, scoring four times with nine assists. Cassivi has appeared in just six NHL games.
