Cambridge, IL (My Sportsbook) - University of Arizona tight end Justin Levasseur, who goes on trial in February on a felony drug charge, has been released from prison after posting a $30,000 bond. Levasseur was arrested when police found 87 pounds of marijuana in a truck he was driving. A pretrial court date for Levasseur and accused accomplice Max Necochea is scheduled for January 10 in the felony drug trafficking case. Levasseur was pulled over by Illinois State Police trooper Clint Thulen on December 3 for speeding. According to Thulen, Levasseur appeared nervous and suspicious. The marijuana was then discovered. Thulen said Levasseur admitted having marijuana in the truck, which he had rented in Tucson, Arizona. Thulen testified that Levasseur said Necochea was to pay him $4,000 for delivering the marijuana to Detroit. He said Necochea was following Levasseur in a car. Police later arrested Necochea. Levasseur had 11 catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns this season.
