Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The
Philadelphia 76ers return home hoping to snap a two-game losing streak when they take on the Seattle SuperSonics at First Union Center Wednesday.
The Sixers came up empty on a two-game swing in Texas, falling to San Antonio and Houston. Prior to the road trip, the Sixers had won their previous eight games.
Most recently on Saturday, Philly was blasted by the Rockets at the Compaq Center, 97-72.
Keith Van Horn netted 15 points for the Sixers, who have lost two straight for just the second time this season. Allen Iverson, who shot 9-for-30 in Philadelphia's loss to San Antonio on Friday, didn't fare much better against Houston. The Sixers' franchise player dropped just five of his 19 attempts from the floor for only 11 points.
Derrick Coleman and Eric Snow each added 10 in the losing effort.
The Sixers are perfect in 10 games at home this season and post a 3-2 mark against the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Sonics began their five-game road trip with a 97-80 loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Gary Payton led the Sonics with 20 points, but shot just 8-of-19 from the floor in the loss. Vladimir Radmanovic finished with 17 off the bench for Seattle, which has lost eight of eleven since opening the season with an 8-2 record.
Rashard Lewis missed the game after being suspended by the league for one game following an altercation in Seattle's win over Miami on Saturday.
Seattle dropped to 6-6 on the road this season and 4-6 against the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers and Sonics split two meetings last season, with the road team winning each contest. Seattle has won six of its last eight in Philadelphia.
