Milan, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Inter Milan came from two goals down in the final six minutes to beat Sampdoria, 3-2, at the San Siro Sunday.
The remarkable comeback preserved Inter's unbeaten record, and allowed it to keep pace with leaders Juventus, which handled Livorno Sunday.
"It was a great emotion," said Inter striker Christian Vieri. "It was one of the best days since I have been at Inter."
Sampdoria, which had won three straight matches coming in, grabbed the lead in the 44th minute through Max Tonetto. Vitali Kutuzov doubled the margin in the 82nd minute, and many Inter fans headed for the exits.
But Roberto Mancini's team sprung to life, as substitute Obafemi Martins cut the lead to 2-1 in the 88th minute. The Nigerian then turned provider, setting up Vieri for the equalizer. Uruguayan Alvaro Recoba netted the game- winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time, capping the improbable rally.
Sampdoria remains fifth, while Inter is fourth, 13 points behind the leaders. Inter, which has drawn 12 of its 18 matches, has now won three in a row.
"There were so many emotions, this match bordered on the dramatic," said Inter captain Javier Zanetti. "We never stopped believing. Everyone needed this victory to continue building a team that can achieve success."
Sampdoria had allowed just 12 goals all season before Sunday's late collapse.
Juventus rebounded from two straight draws with a solid 4-2 win over Livorno at the Delle Alpi. Mauro Camoranesi scored twice, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Del Piero added goals.
AC Milan was held to a scoreless draw at Palermo. The home team's stingy defense was on display, as it has allowed just 12 goals in 18 matches this season. The disappointing draw leaves second-place AC Milan four points behind Juve.
Udinese, which lost to Sampdoria on Thursday, blanked Cagliari 2-0. Antonio Di Natale opened the scoring for third-place Udinese, and an own goal sealed Cagliari's fate.
Lazio won again under new coach Giuseppe Papadopulo, 3-2 at Fiorentina. Coming off an impressive win over rival Roma, Lazio got goals from Paolo Di Canio, Goran Pandev, and Ousmane Dabo to move up to ninth place.
Vincenzo Montella returned from suspension and netted a brace as Roma beat last-place Atalanta, 2-1. Montella is now tied atop the Serie A scoring charts with Inter's Adriano (14 goals).
Bologna topped Chievo at home, 3-1. Chievo has lost five of its last six, and is hovering just about the relegation zone. Lecce was held to a 1-1 draw by Reggina, and Messina shut out Brescia, 2-0. Lowly Parma, which played Juventus to a 1-1 draw on Thursday, beat Siena 1-0.
