Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The U.S. team of Ben Bratton (New York, NY), Seth Kelsey (Brush Prairie, WA), Cody Mattern (Tigard, Ore.) and Ben Ungar (Bronx, NY), seeded 12th in the table of 32, pulled off a handful of upsets to win a team silver at the World Championships in Paris, France on Nov. 13.
The U.S. team defeated Czech Republic 45-34, fifth-seeded China 40-39, fourth- seeded Korea 39-35, and the top seeded team in the world, Hungary, 45-38 before falling to the host nation France in the finals 36-45.
The U.S. Women's Foil team of Lee Kiefer (Lexington, KY), Nzingha Prescod (Brooklyn, NY), Nicole Ross (New York, NY) and Doris Willette (Lafayette, CA) reached the quarterfinals before falling to Korea 45-23.

Announced USA Archery announced the members of the 2011 Senior, Para and Junior United States Archery Teams (USAT).
BEACH VOLLEYBALL: May-Treanor Named FIVB Beach Sportswoman of the Year
U.S. beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor (Santa Monica, CA) was named the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Sportswoman of the Year and was the runner-up for Best Hitter.
May-Treanor teamed up with Nicole Branagh (Orinda, CA) in 2010 to rank as the No. 11 team with three final four' finishes together.
BOBLED/SKELETON: U.S. Claims Four Medals in Park City America's Cup
The bobsled and skeleton international competitive season kicked off with the first America's Cup event of the year in Park City, Utah from Nov. 11-14.
Push athlete Emily Azevedo (Chico, CA) teamed with drivers Erin Pac (Farmington, CT) and Bree Schaaf (Bremerton, WA) in the women's bobsled events to claim a bronze and gold medal, respectively, while women's skeleton athlete Rebecca Sorensen (Fort Collins, CO) won two bronze medals for the U.S. team.
On the second day of racing, Bree Schaaf (Bremerton, WA) teamed with Azevedo for gold after piloting her sled to the finish in 50.35 and 50.34 seconds for a total of 1:40.69.
On the men's side, Nick Cunningham (Monterey, CA) teamed with Jared Clugston (Red Hill, PA) to lead the U.S. men in the first two-man bobsled competition to finish seventh with a total time of 1:40.04 (49.94, 50.10), and repeated his seventh place performance in the second race with Colin Campbell (Ventura, CA) after sliding a two-run total of 1:39.77 (49.85, 49.92).
Sorensen claimed bronze in both competitions held on Nov. 11 and 12, finishing with combined times of 1:43.15 (51.53, 51.53) and 1:43.44 (51.48, 51.96).
Matt Griff (Salt Lake City, Utah) led the U.S. in the first men's skeleton event with a fifth place finish in the first race with a total time of 1:41.94 after crossing the finish line in 51.04 and 50.90 seconds, while Nick Vienneau (Salt Lake City, Utah) led the men with a seventh place result in the second race after posting a two run total of 1:41.86 (50.89, 50.97).
CURLING: Wisconsin's Morton rink to represent USA at 2011 Winter World University Games
University of Wisconsin-Madison student Blake Morton (McFarland, WI) and his team will represent the United States at the 2011 Winter World University Games in January in Turkey.
Morton and teammates Marcus Fonger (Cottage Grove, WI), Tommy Juszczyk (McFarland, WI), and Calvin Weber (McFarland, WI) earned the right by defeating Aanders Brorson's team from Minnesota, 7-4, in a sudden-death playoff at the selection event held at the Fargo-Moorhead Curling Club in Fargo, N.D.
EQUESTRIAN: U.S. Storms to Nations Cup Win at CSIO Buenos Aires
Four U.S. Show Jumping riders traveled to CSIO Buenos Aires in Argentina, and their trip proved worth the miles when they scored a big win in Nations Cup held Nov. 12. Led by the four fault efforts of Lucy Davis (Los Angeles, CA) and John McConnell (Lemitar, NM), the U.S. Team put in an impressive effort to jump to the win on 24 faults over the Canadians who finished on 37. The home nation was third on a score of 43.
Megan Edrick (Ocala, FL) and Cadence jumped a four-fault round in their first attempt and picked up 12 faults in the second round. McConell jumped a confident clear in the first round with Katie Riddle and then had four faults in round two. Davis and Nemo also finished on four faults, but her clear effort came in the second round. Saer Coulter (San Francisco, CA) had eight faults in the first round with Chalan.
There were only four clear rounds within the time allowed in the entire Nations Cup and two of them belonged to the U.S. Team, who were riding under the expertise of Chef d'Equipe Michelle Grubb.
FIGURE SKATING: Davis, White Overcome Fall to Win Gold
A double fall couldn't stop Meryl Davis (Bloomfield, MI) and Charlie White (Bloomfield Hills, MI) from winning their first Skate America title by 7.68 points on Sunday in Portland, Ore.
It was the second win of the season for the U.S. champions, who also triumphed at NHK Trophy earlier this year.
Performing a hastily retooled Tango free dance, the Olympic and world silver medalists took their lumps, but were happy with the speed, fluidity and emotion of their program.
The duo earned 93.00 points for their Tango and tallied 156.68 overall.
In the ladies competition, Kanako Murakami of Japan edged an injured Rachael Flatt (Colorado Springs, CO) for first place. Flatt, who was skating on an injured right foot, toughed out a solid program to win the free and climb from fourth after the short to second overall.
She earned 111.84, several points higher than at her silver-medal performance at NHK, and ended with 162.86 points.
On the men's side, Adam Rippon (Scranton, PA) was the top American male finisher just missing the podium with a fourth place finish after fading from third to fourth overall when he failed to land a clean triple Axel.
GYMNASTICS: White Wins Silver Medal at 2010 World Trampoline & Tumbling Championships
Austin White (Newport Coast, CA) won the silver medal for men's double mini-trampoline at the 2010 World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships at the Les Arenes Sports Complex in Metz, France on Nov. 13.
White earned a 35.000 for his first routine, which had an error on his landing, and then came back with a very strong second pass to post a 38.000 for a 73.000 total.
Portugal's Andre Lico just edged out White for the gold by 0.400. The bronze went to Russia's Evgeny Chernoivanov at 72.700.
On the women's side, Mckenna Kurz (Encinitas, CA) finished fifth in women's double-mini. She earned a combined 64.000, posting a 32.800 on her first pass and 31.200 on her second.
Canada's Corissa Boychuk won the gold medal with a 70.500, with South Africa's Bianca Budler and Russia's Svetlana Balandina in second and third, respectively.
In other news, 2010 World all-around bronze-medalist and reigning U.S. all- around champion Jonathan Horton (Houston, TX) finished sixth in the 2010 Champions Trophy, an all-around competition in Stuttgart, Germany.
HOCKEY: U.S. Women's Select Team Edged by Canada, 3-2, in Overtime
Despite Molly Schaus' (Natick, MA) 49 saves, the U.S. Women's Select Team was edged by Canada, 3-2, on a powerplay goal in overtime of the championship game at the 2010 Women's Four Nations Cup on Nov. 13 at Mile One Centre in St.
John's Newfoundland. Team USA finished the tournament with a 2-1- 1-0 record to garner second place.
Scoring goals for the U.S were Julie Chu (Fairfield, CT), and Kendall Coyne (Palos Heights, IL).
The U.S. National Under-17 Team claimed the Four Nations Cup title in Woodbride, IL on Nov. 13 as Brady Skjei (Lakeville, MN) and Cameron Darcy (South Boston, MA) each recorded a goal and an assist, and Skjei notched the game-winner to defeat Russia, 6-1, to claim its second consecutive 2010 Under-17 Four Nations Cup title.
The U.S. Under-18s fared just as well as they claimed the Four Nations Cup title in shootout on Nov. 13 in Sundsvall, Sweden.
Robbie Russo (Westmont, IL) scored one goal in regulation and twice in the shootout and Matt McNeely (Burnsville, MN) made 37 saves as the U.S. National Under-18 Team defeated Sweden, 5-4, to claim its second consecutive 2010 Under-18 Four Nations Cup title.
SKI/SNOWBOARD: Freeman wins in Munio
Despite not being seeded in the men's classic 10k race, Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) crushed the field, winning the race by 12 seconds.
Freeman crossed the line first with a time of 25:30.40, proving he is strong and ready to race for the 2011 season. Germany's Tobias Angerer and Martin Jaks of the Czech Republic trailed Freeman to take second and third.
Freeman also made the podium in the freestyle 10k after taking second in 22:45.10.
On the women's side, Kikkan Randall (Anchorage, AK) was the top U.S. female finishing the day in 14th.
The U.S. Alpine team was also in action this weekend in Levi, Finland at the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup where Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) went down on her hip mid-run, yet made an athletic recovery to finish sixth and secure valuable early season points.
The men's team was lead by Ted Ligety (Park City, Utah) who climbed eight slots in the second run to top the Americans with an 18th place finish. Jean-Baptiste Grange of France, who missed most of last season with an ACL tear, earned the wire-to-wire slalom victory.
SPEEDSKATING: Davis skates to 1000m, 1500m Gold on Opening Day in Heerenveen
The U.S. Long Track World Cup Team had a strong showing at the 2010 ISU World Cup opener in Heerenveen, Netherlands as Shani Davis (Chicago, IL) won gold in the 1000m and 1500m distances.
Davis finished the 1000m with a time of 1:08.40 - just .01 seconds off his track record. Davis continues to dominate in the 1000m where he won gold at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He finished the 1500m in 1.45.04.
Also competing in the 1500m A division were 2010 Olympians Jonathan Kuck (Champaign, IL) finishing 11th with a time of 1:47.31, Trevor Marsicano (Ballston Spa, NY) in 12th place (1:47.35) and Ryan Bedford (Midland, MI) in 21st with a time of 1:50.24. In the men's 1500m B division, Mike Blumel (Woodbury, MN) took 10th with a time of 1:51.47.
Kuck skated an incredible 6:22.32 in the men's 5000m A division, a personal record, which landed him in fourth place, teammate Davis finished 18th at the distance with a time of 6:37.76.
The men's 5000m B final saw Marsicano finish in second with a time of 6:31.97, and Bedford take fourth with a time of 6:35.62.
In the men's 500m A division, Tucker Fredricks (Janesville, WI) finished fifth at 35.14, while Davis skated to a 12th-place finish at 35.41. 2010 Olympic silver medalist, Keiichiro Nagashima of Japan won the 500m distance with a time of 34.97.
In the ladies 1000m A division, 2010 Olympian Heather Richardson (High Point, NC) had a standout performance, finishing fifth with a time of 1:17.23. She also took fifth in the 500m A division. Also skating the ladies 1000m A division were Rebekah Bradford (Apple Valley, MN) in 20th place at 1:19.27, Jilleanne Rookard (Woodhaven, MI) in 22nd with a time of 1:19.64, and Lauren Chloewinski (York, S.C.) in 23rd with a time of 1:21.11.
In the ladies' 1500m A division, it was a back-to-back finish for the U.S. skaters as Rookard came in 10th at 1:59.83 and Richardson was 11th at 1:59.95. Canada's Christine Nesbitt won the distance with a time of 1:56.00.
SWIMMING: Franklin and Lochte win high-point awards in Minnesota
Missy Franklin (Centennial, CO) earned three gold medals on the final night of competition at the Minnesota Grand Prix, the first stop of the 2010-2011 USA Swimming Grand Prix Series. Franklin won the 200y IM, 200y back and 100y free, bringing her total gold medal count in Minneapolis to seven.
Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, FL) also picked up two gold medals with wins in the men's 200y IM and 200y back. Meet high-point awards were awarded to both swimmers for their outstanding performances throughout the three-day meet, which was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Franklin went undefeated in all seven of her individual events throughout the course of the meet. She won the 200y IM with a time of 1:57.16, edging out fellow National Teamer Elizabeth Pelton (Baltimore, Md.) for the win. Pelton finished in 1:58.38 and Erika Erndl (Naples, FL) was third in 2:00.62. Franklin's second gold came in the 200y back with a time of 1:53.17. Bonnie Brandon (Mission Aurora, CO) was second in 1:55.94. Franklin's closest race of the night came in the 100y free, which she won in 48.50. Lia Neal (Brooklyn, NY) was a close second in 48.70.
Lochte earned his first gold of the night Sunday with a win in the 200y IM. Lochte had a strong start in the race, however, a late surge from Todd Patrick (St. Louis, MO) kept him battling for the top spot. Lochte pulled off the win with a time of 1:45.35 while Patrick was second in 1:45.54. Olympic gold medalist Ricky Berens (Charlotte, NC) was third in 1:46.13. Lochte's second gold came in the 200y back. He took the lead after the first 100 yards and finished the race in 1:40.44, more than four seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
TAEKWONDO: Steven Lopez Captures Olympic Trials
Steven Lopez (Sugar Land, Texas) is on track to make his fourth U.S. Olympic Team after winning the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Taekwondo on Nov. 14 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Lopez, 32, earned the right to compete at the World Olympic Qualification Event held next July in Baku, Azerbaijan. A top-three finish at that event would qualify him for his fourth straight Olympic Team. Lopez was Olympic champion in 2000 and 2004, and captured a bronze medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing, China.
Lopez won four consecutive matches in the double-elimination format to win the male light/welterweight division (149.7 - 176.0 lbs.). His opponent, TJ Curry (El Sobrante, CA), emerged from the elimination bracket after stopping Daniel Cosmillo (Boca Raton, FL) to set up a rematch with Lopez. In a final that went right down to the wire, Lopez pulled out a 6-5 win to capture the event.
He will join his younger sister, Diana Lopez (Sugar Land, TX), and Terrence Jennings (Woodbridge, VA) at next summer's World Olympic Qualifier. Diana Lopez and Jennings captured the bantam/ featherweight titles on Nov. 13.
TRIATHLON: O'Donnell Takes Third at Ironman World Championship 70.3
Timothy O'Donnell (Boulder, CO) placed third to lead five Americans to top-10 finishes at the Ironman World Championship 70.3 on Nov. 13 in Clearwater, FL
O'Donnell stood 10th after the swim, but came on strong on the bike and run to finish as the top U.S. athlete with a time of 3 hours, 44 minutes, 18 seconds over the 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run event.
Joining O'Donnell with top-10 finishes on the men's side were fellow Project 2012 athlete Kevin Collington (Orlando, FL), who was eighth in 3:47:32, and USA Triathlon National Team member Matt Reed (Boulder, CO), who finished ninth in 3:48:13. Germany's Michael Raelert won the men's title in 3:41:19.
On the women's side, Amanda Stevens (Colorado Springs, CO) was the top American, finishing fourth in 4:13:32 to just miss a spot on the podium. She was second following the swim and held her position in the top four all day. Heather Jackson (Exeter, NH) followed with a fifth-place finish among the professional women in 4:17:08. Jodie Swallow of Great Britain was the women's winner in 4:06:28.
VOLLEYBALL: U.S. Women Denied World Championship Bronze
The U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team lost a heart-breaking five-set match (18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 15-8) to Japan in the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship bronze medal match played on Nov. 14 in Tokyo.
Destinee Hooker (San Antonio, TX) notched a team-high 28 points with 24 kills and four blocks, while Jordan Larson (Hooper, NE) totaled 12 kills, three blocks and an ace for 16 points and Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, UT) tacked on 15 points with 14 kills and a block.
Stacy Sykora (Burleson, TX) and Tom finished the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship atop a total of three statistical categories. Sykora was the World Championship's Best Libero with a 7.13 average per set of digs and service receptions, and Tom held a 57.49 excellent service reception efficiency as the World Championship leader in Best Receiver.

BIATHLON: U.S. Biathlon will travel to Canada to take part in the world cup trials set to take place Nov. 16-19 in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.
BOBSLED: The America's Cup is set to take place in Calgary, Canada Nov. 15-21.
FIGURE SKATING: The 2010 Rostelecom Cup will take place Nov. 19-21 in Moscow, Russia.
SKI: The 2011 World Cup tour will start in Gaellivare, Sweden Nov. 20-21.
SOCCER: Both the men and women play this week as the men will take on South Africa at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa on Nov. 17, while the women face Italy at Stadio Euganeo in Padova, Italy on Nov. 20.
SPEEDSKATING: The World Cup #2 of speedskating will take place in Berlin, Germany Nov.19-21.
WRESTLING: The U.S. competes in a freestyle wrestling dual against Russia at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY on Nov. 27.
