Rome, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Struggling Lazio fired coach Domenico Caso Wednesday after a disastrous start to the season. Caso replaced Roberto Mancini, who left for Inter Milan just five months ago. Lazio, under the weight of financial troubles, has sunk to 15th in the 20-team Serie A. The once powerful club was also recently bounced from the UEFA Cup as it went winless in four group matches. The announcement was made by Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who went on to declare that his club will not be relegated despite its current position. Lazio won the Serie A title in the 1999/2000 season, and finished as runners- up to AC Milan the season before. Lazio's first match after the winter break is a critical derby against AS Roma.
