Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - The Spanish Football Federation has launched an investigation into national team coach Luis Aragones' racial comments. During an October practice, Aragones allegedly made racist remarks towards Jose Antonio Reyes about his Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry. Aragones has defended his words, saying they were meant to motivate his player and not be offensive. If found guilty, Aragones could face anything from a fine to loss of his job. In October, the federation decided not to investigate the incident but a request from Spain's anti-violence commission appears to have changed their mind. Racist chants and incidents have marred recent matches including England's friendly at Spain in November, a Champions League match between Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen, and a Premiership match involving Blackburn and Birmingham City.
