Valencia, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Valencia midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo has been banned for seven European matches following ugly incidents during the 2-0 Champions League loss to Werder Bremen on December 7. Angulo, 27, was sent off late in the match for a vicious challenge on Werder's Nelson Valdez. The Spanish international then proceeded to spit at Werder's Tim Borowski as he left the field. The loss eliminated Valencia from the Champions League, but as the third-place team from Group G it qualified for the UEFA Cup. Valencia, which won the UEFA Cup last season, will need to make the semi- finals for Angulo to be eligible for action. Additionally, UEFA announced that both Valencia and Bremen have been fined for improper conduct during the match.
