Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Argentine midfielder Diego Simeone is leaving Atletico Madrid for his native Racing Club Avellaneda. Simeone, 34, has struggled to find playing time this season with Atletico. The former Argentine international joins Racing Club on loan for the rest of the season. Simeone began his career in the Argentine league, but left 14 years ago. In addition to Atletico, Simeone had stints with Pisa, Inter Milan, and Lazio. He is Argentina's most capped player, with over 100 matches under his belt. The Argentine season just ended on Sunday, with Newell's Old Boys taking home the title. Racing Club finished in 10th position. |
