Valencia, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Valencia midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo has been banned for seven European matches following ugly incidents during the 2-0 Champions League loss to Werder Bremen on December 7. Angulo, 27, was sent off late in the match for a vicious challenge on Werder's Nelson Valdez. He then proceeded to spit on a Werder player as he left the field. The loss eliminated Valencia from the Champions League, but as the third-place team from Group G it qualified for the UEFA Cup. Valencia, which won the UEFA Cup last season, will need to make the semi- finals for Angulo to be eligible for action. Additionally, UEFA announced that both Valencia and Bremen have been fined for improper conduct during the match.
