Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - Seattle's Brian Agler will be named the 2010 WNBA Coach of the Year in a ceremony prior to the Storm's home tip-off of the Western Conference Finals Thursday night. The Seattle Times is just one of several media outlets confirming that both Agler and power forward Lauren Jackson will be honored, the latter as league MVP. The Storm went 28-6 during the regular season, the league's top mark, and swept the Los Angeles Sparks in the conference semifinals. This is Agler's first trip past the semis in his third season at the helm. Seattle is in the West finals for the first time since 2004 when they won it all under former coach Anne Donovan. The Storm are set to take on the defending WNBA champs Phoenix in the best-of-three series.
