Sunderland, England (My Sportsbook) - English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur announced on Wednesday that it reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart. The 27-year-old's deal was slowed by technical issues, with the EPL deciding to ratify it after the transfer window closure on Tuesday. The Holland international began his professional career in the Eredivisie, scoring 60 goals in his domestic league before moving to Hamburg of the German Bundesliga in 2005. He joined La Liga power Real Madrid prior to the 2007-08 season. He has been capped 80 times by Holland, represented his country at two European Championships and two World Cups.
