Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - Lindsey Harding scored 14 points, including the game-winning basket, in a back and forth fourth quarter as Washington squeezed past New York, 75-74, at the Verizon Center. Cappie Pondexter hit six foul shots during an 8-0 run that put the Liberty ahead 72-69 with a minute and a half to go in the game before a Crystal Langhorne jumper and Marissa Coleman layup gave the Mystics a one-point edge with 21.9 ticks left. New York regained the lead at 74-73 on a Pondexter field goal with 12.6 seconds to play only to see Harding make a driving layup to put the home side back on top for good with 8.8 seconds to go. The Liberty missed three shots in the final seconds to see their 10-game win streak snapped and a chance to clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference put on hold. Pondexter finished with 28 points, making 11-of-13 from the line while Janel McCarville and Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 12 apiece for the visitors. Matee Ajavon came off the bench to score 16 to lead the Mystics, who have won five straight and eight out of ten to move into a three-way tie with New York and Indiana for the top spot in the conference. All teams are 21-12 with a game remaining in the regular season.
