El Paso, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Purdue Boilermakers have accepted an invitation to play in the Sun Bowl on December 31 against an undetermined Pac-10 team. The trip to El Paso, Texas will mark the second straight season that the Boilermakers (6-6, 4-4 Big Ten) will play in the Sun Bowl. Last season, they lost 33-27 to 13th-ranked Washington State. "We are extremely pleased to be going back to the Sun Bowl," head coach Joe Tiller said. "Our team had a great trip to El Paso last year. The Sun Bowl committee goes out of its way to make sure the players, coaches and staff have a wonderful experience. The only thing we hope to change this time around is to win the game." The Boilermakers have played in 10 bowl games in their history, with a 6-4 record. "Purdue created a tremendous amount of excitement in El Paso last year, and we don't expect anything different this year," said John Folmer, Sun Bowl Football Committee chairman. "Coach Tiller brings an exciting brand of high- scoring football that will match up perfectly with anyone from the Pac-10. We hope that anyone who missed out on the opportunity to join Purdue at the Sun Bowl last year will be sure to make the trip to El Paso this year."
