Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Tina Thompson hit the game-winning 17-foot jump shot at the buzzer to lift Los Angeles to a thrilling 78-77 win over Minnesota at the Target Center. Thompson's driving layup with 4.3 seconds left gave the Sparks a 76-75 lead before Lindsay Whalen hit a pair of foul shots with 1.1 seconds to go. The 6-foot-2 Thompson then took a pass from Ticha Penicheiro and sank the game-winner from the baseline as the Sparks defeated the Lynx for a sixth straight meeting. DeLisha Milton-Jones scored 21 points, while Thompson finished with 16 points and eight rebounds as the Sparks snapped a two-game slide and pulled within one-half of Minnesota for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Charde Houston came off the bench to lead all scorers with 24, on 10-for-16 shooting, while Rebekkah Brunson added 17 points and 14 boards for the Lynx, who coughed up a 17-point lead in the second half and lost for the second time in three games.
