Augustus hit her shot from beyond the arc to put the visitors in the lead for good at 83-80 with 26.9 seconds left in the extra session. After a Sylvia Fowles layup cut the lead to one seven seconds later, Lindsay Whalen connected on four foul shots to sew up a third straight win for the Lynx . Whalen finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Charde Houston came off the bench to chip in with 17 points for the victors. Jia Perkins scored 16 points to lead the Sky, who suffered their fifth consecutive loss. Fowles supplied 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Dominique Canty added 13 points, including a pair of free throws that tied the game at 73 with 2:30 left in regulation. The two teams then went scoreless the rest of the way to force overtime.
