Tampa, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines have accepted invitations to square off in the Outback Bowl on January 1 at Raymond James Stadium. This will be the first appearance by the Gators in the Outback Bowl, while Michigan will play in the game for the fourth time. The two teams will be meeting on the football field for the first time in history. Florida (8-4) will be making its 10th January Bowl game appearance since 1993, which ties Florida State for the most in the nation. Florida is 14-15 all-time in Bowl appearances and has won six of its last seven Bowl games played in Florida. Michigan (9-3) finished third behind Iowa and Ohio State in the Big Ten this season. "We are excited about the opportunity to represent the Big Ten Conference in the Outback Bowl," said Michigan athletic director Bill Martin. "This should be an outstanding game against a tough Florida team." The Wolverines are making their 28th consecutive bowl appearance and 33rd overall.
