Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Lauren Jackson returned from sitting out one game due to a concussion and scored 31 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, as the Seattle Storm outlasted the Phoenix Mercury, 111-107, in triple overtime.
Tanisha Wright added 20 points, six assists and five rebounds, while Sue Bird contributed 14, eight and five and hit the go-ahead three-pointer for the Storm, winners of eight straight.
Swin Cash made up for a 4-for-15 shooting effort with 12 rebounds and seven assists to go along with 14 points for the victors.
Diana Taurasi led all players with 44 points on 16-of-33 shooting, but the Mercury failed to extend their winning streak to three games. Candice Dupree and DeWanna Bonner each netted 18 points, with Dupree also pulling down 14 caroms in defeat.
Phoenix trailed by seven, 64-57, entering the fourth, but battled back and sent the game to overtime on a Dupree make with 2.4 seconds left in regulation.
Dupree's bucket late in the first extra session had the hosts ahead, 90-86, but Jackson followed Wright's layup with two free throws with 2.6 seconds left to tie it. Taurasi then missed a 19-footer from the right corner, sending the game to another five minutes.
The Storm appeared poised to end the game in two OTs, leading 100-97 with the ball down the stretch, but Cash turned the ball over and fouled Taurasi shooting a three-pointer. The reigning MVP calmly sank all three free throws with 7.9 seconds left to knot the game again before Wright missed a short try at the other end.
Bird's three with 6.4 ticks on the clock broke a 107-all tie, and Penny Taylor, who ended with 16 points, missed one from long range for Phoenix. Jackson then made the second of two free throws to clinch the win.
