Starkville, MS (My Sportsbook) - Mississippi State fired five coaches Monday, including offensive coordinator Sparky Woods and defensive coordinator Joe Lee Dunn, following the team's second-straight three-win season. The Bulldogs (3-9, 0-8 SEC) dropped their final five games of the season and one of their three wins this year came against I-AA Jacksonville State. Mississippi State, which went 3-8 last year, was winless in the SEC for the first time since the 1988 campaign. In addition to Woods and Dunn, the Bulldogs fired wide receivers coach Craig Stump, offensive line coach Carroll McCray and defensive line coach John Hendrick. |
