Montreal, Quebec (My Sportsbook) - The Montreal Alouettes have their leading receiver back.
Ben Cahoon will be in the Alouettes lineup when they face the Edmonton Eskimos at Commonwealth Stadium on Monday. Cahoon has missed Montreal's last two games with a shoulder injury.
The injury snapped Cahoon's streak of 120 straight games played with Montreal. Despite his two-game absence, Cahoon remains the Alouettes' receiving leader with 74 receptions for 939 yards and two touchdowns.
Cahoon rejoins an Alouettes team that is looking to regain its form. The club dropped a 35-19 decision to the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week. The loss was only Montreal's second in 14 games this year, but it came as a result of the club being unable to hold an 18-0 lead.
The Roughriders were able to rally and accumulate over 450 total yards against Montreal's defense, which is ranked No. 1 overall in the CFL.
The Alouettes will also have defensive tackle Robert Brown back. He was out with a calf injury.
MORE CFL GAMES IN U.S.: The CFL announced Friday it is expanding its coverage in the United States after reaching an agreement to carry games to a three- state service area on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
The CFL broadcasts began Oct. 1. Comcast SportsNet Chicago's coverage area includes Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. The network joins Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, as well as Comcast local channels in Detroit and Atlanta which already carry CFL football as part of their sports programming.
"The number of networks that have signed up for CFL games this season in primetime validates the market demand for high-quality live sports events, particularly on the weekends," said Richard Stone, president of Trajectory Sports & Media Group. "In addition to offering sports fans more hard-hitting professional football action, this new programming also provides additional opportunities for advertisers."
Comcast SportsNet Chicago's coverage of CFL games was arranged by Trajectory Sports & Media Group, which has the marketing responsibility for Canadian football coverage in the United States and internationally.
Other networks carrying CFL action as the result of Trajectory Sports & Media Group agreements are America One Sports, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Comcast Detroit, New England My Sportsbook, Madison Square Garden, Empire Sports, Cox Sports TV, Altitude Sports & Entertainment, Fox Sports Middle East, and the North American My Sportsbook.
TEEING IT UP: Saskatchewan Roughriders kicker Paul McCallum is on a nice run and that suits him to a tee.
McCallum has made 15 straight field goals since switching to a tee. The Roughriders take on the Ottawa Renegades on Saturday.
McCallum, 34, last used a tee in 1997, his first full season in the CFL. That year, the Roughriders lost 47-23 to the Doug Flutie-led Toronto Argonauts in the Grey Cup.
McCallum stopped using a tee in 1998 because he was interested in pursuing opportunities in the NFL, which does not allow its kickers to boot field goals using a tee. With that being unlikely at this point in his career, McCallum began thinking of going back to a kicking tee on field goals.
ALLEN IS BACK: Damon Allen is back with the Toronto Argonauts.
The younger brother of former NFL star Marcus Allen resumed practicing with the Argos this week after missing six games recovering from a broken tibia sustained in a game against Montreal in August. Allen was Toronto's starter at the time he was injured, but he won't get the start Sunday for the Argos' home game Monday against the B.C. Lions.
Michael Bishop, who has started the six games Allen has missed, will be Toronto's No. 1 quarterback against the Lions. Bishop has compiled a 3-2-1 record as the Argos starter since Allen went down.
But Toronto head coach Mike Clemons said this week that once Allen is ready, he will return as the club's No. 1 quarterback.
Allen, 41, in his 20th CFL season, is the league's career passing leader with 63,639 yards and 345 touchdown passes. He has also run for over 11,000 yards, the most of any CFL quarterback in history.
