Boston Celtics look to extend their winning streak to four games while the
Chicago Bulls hope to halt a four-game slide when the teams face off at the FleetCenter on Wednesday.
These teams have already met twice this season, with the road team winning each contest. The Bulls stunned the Celtics, 99-96, at the FleetCenter on opening night, then Boston returned the favor by downing Chicago at the United Center on November 6, 91-69.
The Celtics are coming off a home-and-home sweep of the Atlanta Hawks over the weekend. Most recently, Boston rolled to a 109-99 victory Saturday at Philips Arena.
Paul Pierce led all scorers with 31 points and also had 10 rebounds and five assists for Boston.
Antoine Walker scored 22 points and Shammond Williams netted 19, as the Celtics improved to 6-3 against Eastern Conference teams this year.
Tony Delk missed the game for Boston to attend to his sick daughter, but is expected to play Wednesday.
The Celtics have won two straight at home and are 5-2 at the FleetCenter this season.
The Bulls are 0-4 so far on a six-game road trip and have lost eight straight road games dating back to the opening night win in Boston. Chicago's six-game swing concludes Saturday in Dallas.
Chicago is coming off a 110-90 loss at Utah last Saturday.
Jalen Rose poured in a game-high 25 points for the Bulls, while Donyell Marshall added 17 against his former team.
Jamal Crawford scored 11 points and Eddy Curry chipped in 10 for Chicago, which shot just 38 percent from the field.
The Bulls are just 3-5 against the Eastern Conference this season.
Chicago has won three of the last five meetings with the Celtics overall. However, the Bulls have dropped three of their last four and six of their last eight at Boston.
