New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Paula Creamer underwent successful left thumb surgery Tuesday, according to a release from IMG. The release said Creamer had been diagnosed with stretched ligaments, leading to hyperextension of the metacarpal phalangeal joint. Despite first seeking out alternative treatment options, surgery was determined to be the best course of action. Dr. Thomas Hunt performed the surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. "The surgery to reconstruct this ligament went beautifully and I expect Paula to recover fully and be back on the golf course soon," Hunt said. The release did not provide a specific timetable for Creamer's return.
