Florham Park, NJ (My Sportsbook) - The New York Jets and defensive back Brodney Pool have reached an agreement in principle on a contract on Thursday. Pool was not tendered by the Browns. A second-round draft pick in 2005 who played his college ball at Oklahoma, Pool has totaled 11 interceptions over his five-year pro career, including four last season. In 49 career starts for the Browns, Pool was credited with 34 passes defensed. With the deal, the Jets essentially filled the hole left by the exit of safety Kerry Rhodes, who played five years with the Jets before he was traded to Arizona for two draft picks on Saturday.
