Foxboro, MA (My Sportsbook) - New England re-signed veteran quarterback Jim Miller, just three days after releasing him. The Patriots originally signed Miller, who spent last season out of football, on July 19. They let him go Tuesday. Miller is entering his 10th NFL season and served as the starting signal caller for Chicago in 2001 and 2002. Miller had his best season in 2001, starting 13 of 16 games and passing for 2,299 yards with 13 touchdowns for the Bears. He has also spent time with Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Atlanta and the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. New England also signed rookie running back Kory Chapman, an undrafted free agent from Jacksonville State who originally signed with Baltimore. The team also released running back Mike Cloud, safety Scott Farley, linebackers Lawrence Flugence and Grant Steen, tight end Joel Jacobs, defensive lineman Dwight Johnson, quarterback Kliff Kingsbury, cornerback Earthwind Moreland and guard Jamil Soriano.
