Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Ian Poulter won his first World Golf Championships event Sunday as he beat countryman Paul Casey in the finals of the Accenture Match Play Championship. The win helped Poulter climb six spots to No. 5 in this week's world rankings. It is a career-best ranking for the Englishman. The top four stayed the same with Tiger Woods trailed by Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood. After Poulter, Casey inched up a spot to sixth, while Jim Furyk and Martin Kaymer dipped two spots apiece to seventh and eighth. Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington and Henrik Stenson each dropped one spot in front of Geoff Ogilvy, who remained No. 12 again this week. Sergio Garcia took fourth in the Match Play and climbed two spots to 13th, knocking Kenny Perry and Robert Allenby down one place apiece. Retief Goosen and Stewart Cink also climbed four spots to 16 and 17, while Sean O'Hair and Ernie Els were both down two to 18th and 19th. Robert Karlsson was down one to 20th and Ross Fisher fell out of the top 20 as he dipped three to 21 this week. Other winners over the weekend included Cameron Beckman (Mayakoba Golf Classic), Michiel Bothma (Telkom PGA Championship) and David Vanegas (Abierto Internacional de Golf II Copa Antioquia). Beckman soared 103 spots to No. 155, Bothma jumped 200 places to No. 253, while Vanegas climbed to No. 471 in the world.
