Pacific Palisades, CA (My Sportsbook) - Dustin Johnson birdied his 18th hole Saturday to take sole possession of the second-round lead at the Northern Trust Open.

Johnson finished with a four-under 67 for the second round and completed 36 holes at 11-under 131. He is one clear at a rainy Riviera.

The second round had to be completed on Saturday after darkness forced the suspension of play on Friday. Forty-one players headed back to Riviera Saturday morning, but didn't start when expected.

With golfers supposed to be in position at 7:30 a.m. local time (10:30 a.m. ET), inclement weather forced officials to push back the resumption of round two 90 minutes.

At that time, the players completed the second round, but trouble looms. The forecast for Saturday calls for more rain and the golfers are in threesomes off both the first and 10th tees for the third round.

Steve Stricker, last year's runner-up, shot a 65 on Friday and is in second at minus-10. Andres Romero carded a two-under 69 and is alone in third at eight- under 134.

Phil Mickelson, the two-time defending champion, fired a five-under 66 on Friday and vaulted into a tie for 13th at minus-four.

"I've got to go low tomorrow, I know that, but it's out there if you play well," Mickelson said on Friday.

Johnson bogeyed the 15th hole Friday to fall into a share of the lead with Stricker and play was called one hole later.

On Saturday, Johnson chipped in from off the green on the 18th hole to move back in front by himself.

He will be in search of his third PGA Tour victory.

Kevin Stadler (71), Tim Wilkinson (67) and Justin Rose (67) are knotted in fourth place at minus-six.

Anthony Kim (66), Ricky Barnes (71), Steve Marino (67), Troy Matteson (69) and J.B. Holmes (69) share eighth at five-under 137.

NOTES: The 36-hole cut came at two-over 144 and several big-name players missed the mark. Padraig Harrington, Davis Love III, Hunter Mahan, Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler, Vijay Singh and U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin all have the rest of the weekend off...Phil Mickelson left the controversial, yet approved wedges out of his bag this week...According to NBC Sports, only Hunter Mahan and Fred Couples are using them. Mahan missed the cut, while Couples is one- under par after two rounds...Scott McCarron, who accused Mickelson of "cheating" last week for his use of the wedges, but apologized to Mickelson this week, also missed the cut.
