LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -Attorneys for fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach and the university have held a court-ordered mediation session, though they have more talking to do. In a court filing late Friday, mediator Frank E. Murchison said mediation had not been completed and has been recessed ``pending future scheduling.'' The university fired Leach on Dec. 30, two days after it suspended him amid allegations he mistreated a player with a concussion. He sued the school, alleging libel, slander and breach of contract. State District Judge William Sowder had set Friday as a deadline when he ordered the two sides into mediation Jan. 21. Leach has denied he mistreated the player.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press.
