Kirkland, WA (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Seahawks placed linebacker D.D.Lewis on the injured reserve Tuesday, effectively ending his 2004 season. Lewis, who is a reserve outside linebacker, will undergo additional surgery on his left shoulder on Thursday. He was never able to fully recover from offseason surgery on the shoulder and had been out of action since August 14. Lewis was expected to start for Chad Brown, who will miss the first four games of the regular season with a broken left leg. Lewis, a third-year pro from Texas, played in 15 games last season, starting five. He recorded a career-high 56 tackles. Seattle also released cornerback Jernaro Gilford to reach Tuesday's NFL- mandated 75-man roster.
