Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - Amare Stoudemire poured in 20 points and pulled down 17 rebounds, and Phoenix snapped Denver's nine-game home winning streak with a 109-97 triumph at the Pepsi Center.
Jason Richardson chipped in 20 points and seven boards, while Steve Nash contributed 17 points and 10 assists for the Suns, who tied a season-high with their fourth straight victory.
Kenyon Martin had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, which lost for just the second time in its last 12 contests. Nene tallied 15 points and nine boards, while J.R. Smith also scored 15 in defeat.
The Nuggets played without All-Star Carmelo Anthony for a sixth straight game as he remains out with a sprained left ankle.
Denver led 16-10 early, but that was the Nuggets' largest advantage of the night as the Suns took over in the latter stages of the opening quarter. Phoenix scored the final 12 of the quarter for a 28-22 lead after 12 minutes.
The Nuggets briefly grabbed a 31-30 edge on a Nene jam early in the second, but the Suns came back with an ensuing 14-2 burst, which was capped three consecutive shots from beyond the arc - by Goran Dragic, Richardson and Channing Frye.
Denver trimmed that deficit to two points, but the Nuggets fell behind 60-49 at the half. The Nuggets got within six at one juncture in the third, but Phoenix widened the margin to 86-72 moving to the fourth following a Stoudemire three-point play.
The difference grew to as high as 22 in the final quarter.
