Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - Jason Terry and Josh Howard scored 21 and 19 points, respectively, to pace the Mavericks to a 110-101 victory over the struggling Warriors.

Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points while grabbing seven rebounds, and Shawn Marion added 18 and nine for Dallas, which put a halt to its three-game slide. Jason Kidd played facilitator with 16 assists and six steals for the Mavs, who received a 16-point effort off the bench from Drew Gooden.

Golden State dropped its seventh straight game despite a career-high 46-point performance from Monta Ellis, who shot a scorching 17-of-23 from the field.

"That was a remarkable performance by Monta," Warriors head coach Don Nelson said. "He didn't have a great supporting cast, but he fought and kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win."

Corey Maggette returned from a one-game absence due to a hip pointer to chip in 20 points and nine boards in defeat.

The Warriors were down by as many as 18 but battled back and hung tough in the fourth. They trailed 95-92 after an Ellis bucket with 5:11 to go, only to have Nowitzki score six straight points for a nine-point game.

Ellis answered with five points to make it a two-possession affair again, but Terry hit a mid-range jumper and Kidd nailed a three for a 106-97 cushion with 1:25 remaining.

Nowitzki's finger-roll the next time down sealed the win.

"We found a way to grind it out and get a win," said Nowitzki, who played the fourth quarter with a wrap on his hand after taking a hard foul from Ellis in the third quarter.

Golden State was down just 16-15 with 4:25 to go in the first but made just one field goal the rest of the frame, which ended with Dallas leading, 32-21.

Dallas scored nine of the first 11 points in the second to push the lead to 41-23 on Howard's jumper 2 1/2 minutes in.

The difference was 62-48 at halftime, but the Warriors were within 81-75 with a quarter to play after making 12-of-17 from the field in the third frame.

Game Notes

Dallas center Erick Dampier missed the game due to a knee injury...Ellis has two other 40-plus-point games this season, both coming in November...The Warriors are 4-22 away from Oakland this season, though they beat Dallas earlier this season, 111-103, on November 24 in the Lone Star State...C.J. Watson ended with 14 points for the Warriors, who committed 21 turnovers.
