(My Sportsbook) - A pair of also-rans get together this evening in the Twin Cities, as the Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the New York Knicks at the Target Center. The Timberwolves ended a five-game losing streak and won for the second time in 11 tries with a 111-97 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday in Minneapolis. Al Jefferson posted 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks for the Wolves, who shot 52.4 percent from the field. "It was good. We came out in the first quarter and set the tone," Minnesota forward Ryan Gomes said. Corey Brewer added 20 points and five rebounds, while Jonny Flynn and Ryan Hollins each netted 19 points in the rare win. Minnesota is 7-17 as the host this season. From the way the Knicks have been playing lately they're scheduled for a win tonight at the Target Center. Over their past 11 games the Knicks have won following a two-game slide and enter tonight's tilt on a two-game losing streak after suffering a 106-96 loss in Washington on Saturday. David Lee finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Knicks, who have lost four of five overall. Jared Jeffries tallied 17 points, Nate Robinson had 16 points off the bench and Wilson Chandler added 13 points and six boards in defeat. "We didn't hit any shots and defensively they didn't miss too much," Lee said. The Knicks are 7-14 away from Madison Square Garden this season. Forward Al Harrington (knee) missed Saturday's game and is expected to miss tonight's contest against the Timberwolves. New York handed Minnesota a 132-105 loss on January 26 this season in the Big Apple, but has lost six of the previous nine contests in this series.
