New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Charlotte Bobcats forward Stephen Jackson and Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony were named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the period ending January 17. Jackson paced the Bobcats to a 3-0 week with an average of 29.3 points and 3.3 steals per game. His point total ranked second in the East during the period, highlighted by a 43-point effort in a 102-94 win over Houston on January 12. The Nuggets also won their three games last week thanks to Anthony chipping in 29.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals. On January 17, the league's leading scorer (30.0 ppg) entering play Tuesday logged 37 points and eight boards in a 119-112 win over Utah. Other nominees for the award were Atlanta's Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson, Cleveland's LeBron James, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, Indiana's Danny Granger, Memphis' Zach Randolph, Miami's Dwyane Wade, New Orleans' Chris Paul, Philadelphia's Samuel Dalembert and Toronto's Andrea Bargnani.
