(My Sportsbook) - The
New York Knicks try to stay perfect on their five-game homestand Tuesday, when they play host to the
Chicago Bulls at historic Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks have won the first two tests of the residency and handed the Charlotte Bobcats a 98-94 defeat on Sunday thanks to 26 points and five rebounds from Wilson Chandler. Danilo Gallinari posted 21 points, two steals and two blocks for the Knicks, who have won six of their last eight games overall and pushed their home record to 6-8.
"We didn't play our best ball tonight but we were able to hang in there and hold on to get victory," Gallinari said.
David Lee chipped in 15 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists, while Chris Duhon ended with 13 points and six assists in a winning cause. The Knicks will also host the Heat and Spurs on the homestand. Guard Larry Hughes (groin) is questionable for Tuesday's game.
Chicago will try to put the brakes on a seven-game road losing streak tonight and is 2-10 away from the Windy City this season. It had a short two-game winning streak halted with Monday's 102-98 setback versus the Sacramento Kings, as Luol Deng scored 26 points and Derrick Rose added 24 and seven assists for the Bulls, who went 3-3 on a six-game homestand.
"We had it going pretty well in the first half. We stopped being aggressive, stopped moving the basketball. It got contagious. We didn't play together. We are not good enough to take a minute off," Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said. "You let teams back in games and they get confidence. Confidence is a big thing at this level."
John Salmons and Kirk Hinrich scored 14 points apiece in defeat.
The Bulls recently beat New York, 98-89, on December 17 at the United Center and have won two straight, three of four and 14 of the last 19 matchups in the series. These two teams have split the past six contests in the Big Apple.
