Athens, Greece (My Sportsbook) - The American badminton doubles team of Howard Bach and Kevin Han were eliminated from the Olympics after losing a second round match to Jens Eriksen and Martin Lundgaard of Denmark, 15-6, 15-4 at the Goudi Olympic Hall Monday night. "They were both very tall and served very well and we did not have an answer for them all night long," said Han, a three-time Olympian (1996, 2000, 2004). "They took away the net and we just couldn't get a rally going. They picked on the worst part of our game which happens to be the strongest part of their game, service and service return. We wanted to get on the attack in the beginning of the game, but we just never could." Han announced his retirement from competitive badminton following the match. The loss ended Bach and Han's quest to become the first Olympic medalists ever for the United States in the sport of badminton. There was also a shock in mixed doubles as world champions Kim Dong Moon and Ra Kyung Min of Korea lost to the Denmark duo of Jonas Rasmussen and Rikke Olsen. It was the first lost for Kim/Ra in over a year following a final of 17-14, 15-8. "This was completely unpredictable! They had never thought they would come to this. The Olympics have already been a success for us, since we beat them," Olsen said.
