Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Atlantic Division-leading New Jersey Devils will be without backup goaltender Kevin Weekes for at least two weeks due to a lower-body injury. Weekes left New Jersey's 5-4 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday with an apparent leg injury. Weekes was hurt with less than a minute played in the second period and the Devils trailing, 1-0. On a routine dump-in from a Lightning player, Weekes went to his knees to cover the puck in front of his crease, but his left leg bent underneath itself awkwardly. Weekes had to be helped to the locker room by team staff, and Martin Brodeur was brought in as his replacement. During his time in net, Weekes stopped 11-of-12 shots. Brodeur picked up the win despite allowing three goals on 10 shots. Weekes' injury isn't expected to be serious, but test results are pending. The Devils recalled goalie Scott Clemmensen from Lowell of the AHL on Saturday to fill the backup spot.
