Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - Point guard Darrick Martin signed a one-year contract with the Denver Nuggets and returned home after the team was in need of a veteran point guard. The contract is non-guaranteed, but is worth $887,435. Martin had been released by the Dallas Mavericks after only appearing in three games last season because the team felt they had too many point guards on the roster with Steve Nash and Nick Van Exel already under contract. Martin, 31, is an eight-year NBA veteran, and has also played with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Vancouver Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings. In his career which spans 399 games, the 5-foot-11 guard out of UCLA, has averaged 8.0 points, and 3.3 assists per game.
