Montreal, QC (My Sportsbook) - The Montreal Canadiens have claimed forward Glen Metropolit off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers. Metropolit was waived by Philadelphia on Wednesday in anticipation of Daniel Briere's return to the ice. He notched four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 55 games for the Flyers this season. "Glen is a seasoned veteran who played very well against us in last year's playoffs against the Bruins," said Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey. "We are very pleased to have him on our roster." The Flyers had signed Metropolit to a two-year deal this past offseason after he notched 11 goals and 22 assists in 82 games for the Bruins last season. In 317 NHL games since breaking in with Washington for the 1999-2000 season, Metropolit has 39 goals and 88 assists for 127 points. He has also played for Tampa Bay, Atlanta and St. Louis in addition to his stints with Washington, Boston and Philadelphia.
