Baltimore, MD (My Sportsbook) - The Baltimore Orioles signed pitcher John Parrish to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training as a non-roster invitee, the team announced on Wednesday. Parrish, 31, went 1-1 with a 4.04 earned run average in 13 games (six starts) with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008. In over seven seasons in the majors, Parrish is 13-13 with a 4.54 ERA in 174 games, which includes 16 starts. In addition to Baltimore and Toronto, he has also saw time in a Seattle uniform. Also on Wednesday, Baltimore announced that pitcher Brian Burres was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was designated for assignment on Monday when the team acquired pitcher Rich Hill from the Chicago Cubs.
