Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran catcher Michael Barrett to a minor league contract on Tuesday. Barrett appeared in just 30 games last year with the San Diego Padres. A freak incident in early July ended with him having a broken nose after he fouled a ball off his face. He did not return after suffering the injury and finished the season with a .202 average with two home runs and nine RBI. In 1,047 career games with Montreal, the Chicago Cubs and San Diego, the 32- year-old has compiled a .264 batting average with 97 homers and 422 RBI.
