(My Sportsbook) - If the
Calgary Flames are to extend their six-game winning streak, they will have to do it against a team they haven't beaten on the road in nearly five years.
The Flames will try to snap a seven-game road losing streak to the Anaheim Ducks tonight at the Honda Center.
Calgary has won six straight after Saturday's 3-2 win over Los Angeles and will try tonight for its first seven-game winning streak since an eight-game run from November 1-16, 2005.
However, the Flames haven't won in Anaheim since January 19, 2004. The Ducks won three of four overall in last season's series.
Miikka Kiprusoff has been instrumental in the Flames' winning burst. He had a 4.37 goals against average through his first five starts of the season (1-3-1), but has posted a 1.50 GAA in Calgary's last six wins.
He made 34 saves in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Kings that saw Daymond Langkow net the game-winner late in the third period. Adrian Aucoin and Eric Nystrom also lit the lamp and Todd Bertuzzi had two assists for Calgary, which is 3-2-0 on the road this season.
Though they fought it the best they could, the Ducks had a five-game winning streak halted on Friday in a contest with the Canucks that wasn't decided until the 13th round of a shootout. Vancouver's Mattias Ohlund used a high wrister to beat Jonas Hiller, who had replaced Jean-Sebastien Giguere after he earlier allowed four goals on 13 shots faced in regulation.
Hiller made 14 saves in the 7-6 loss, while Teemu Selanne and Corey Perry continued their hot play as of late. Selanne had a four-point night with two goals and a pair of assists, while Perry forced overtime thanks to a tally with 57 seconds left in the third.
Selanne has five goals over his last two games and seven goals and three assists over a five-game point streak. Perry, meanwhile, added four helpers for a career-high five points on Friday and has three goals and 10 assists over a six-game point streak.
Scott Niedermayer, Steve Montador and Chris Pronger also scored for the Ducks.
Anaheim wraps a three-game homestand tonight and is 2-3-1 as the host club this season.
