Edmonton, AB (My Sportsbook) - Andrew Cogliano scored the game-winning goal, as the Edmonton Oilers used a fierce second-period rally to defeat the Calgary Flames, 3-2, and sweep the home-and-home series.

The Oilers won another close battle Friday night, defeating the Flames 4-3 in Calgary.

Ethan Moreau and Fernando Pisani also scored for Edmonton, which has won all four of its games this season. The Oilers scored all their goals in the second period after being down 2-0 following the opening stanza. Mathieu Garon stopped 31-of-33 shots, including all 10 he faced in the final period to hold the lead.

Todd Bertuzzi and Daymond Langkow tallied the goals for the Flames, who have lost four of their opening five games. Marc-Antoine Pouliot assisted on both goals, and Miikka Kiprusoff allowed three goals on 27 shots.

Down 2-0, Edmonton came back to take the lead in the second. After a Calgary defenseman blocked a shot deep in the Flames' zone, Moreau picked up the loose puck and skated to the middle of the ice with ease. He was able to line up a wrist shot, beating Kiprusoff 8:16 into the period to cut the deficit to one.

The Oilers followed with two goals 84 seconds apart. Pisani tallied the equalizer at 10:38 with a wrist shot that beat Garon, with helpers from Pouliot and Moreau.

Tom Gilbert then took the puck for Edmonton in the offensive zone and wrapped the puck around the goal. Kiprusoff was out of position, and Gilbert hit a wide open Cogliano, who easily deposited the puck in the net for the go-ahead goal.

Calgary was unable to tie the game in the third, failing on their only power play chance. They peppered Garon with 10 shots in the final frame but could not get the puck past him.

The Flames completely dominated the opening period, converting on 2-of-4 power play chances and outshooting Edmonton 17-3. Calgary struck first with a goal early in the game. With Pisani off for slashing, Langkow fed Bertuzzi in the left circle in front of the net, and he was able to find the back of the net 4:17 in.

The Flames took a 2-0 lead later in the period on another power play goal at 12:21. Langkow took a shot right in front of the net, and the puck was trickling toward the goal-line behind Garon. Jason Strudwick attempted to clear the puck out just before it went over the line, but his attempt hit Garon and went right back into the net.
