(My Sportsbook) - The Edmonton Oilers will try to stay unbeaten on the season when they aim for a home-and-home sweep of the Calgary Flames tonight at Rexall Place. The Oilers improved to 3-0-0 on the young campaign after posting a 4-3 decision at the Saddledome in Calgary on Friday. Erik Cole scored the first of three second-period, power-play tallies for Edmonton, and the Oilers held on to beat the Flames, 4-3. Lubomir Visnovsky added a goal and an assist, while Robert Nilsson and Andrew Cogliano also lit the lamp for the Oilers. Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, making his NHL debut, made 26 saves in the win for the Oilers. The 24-year-old Drouin-Deslauriers was selected 31st overall by Edmonton in the 2002 draft. David Moss, Adrian Aucoin and Todd Bertuzzi each scored once for Calgary, which has dropped three of four to start the 2008-09 campaign. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 31-of-35 shots in the loss for the Flames. Flames captain Jarome Iginla was held scoreless in the loss as he continued to struggle in the early part of this season. Iginla, who was third in the NHL with 98 points in 2007-08, has just one goal and one assist in four contests this year. Edmonton is 1-0-0 at home this season, while the Flames were handed a regulation loss in their only road contest of the year. The Oilers have taken four of six and five of the last eight meetings with Calgary. The clubs have split the last eight meetings at Rexall Place. |
