Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Former Major League pitcher Kevin Foster died on Saturday from renal cell carcinoma. Foster was 39 years old.

Foster compiled a 32-30 record with a 4.86 ERA during his career in baseball. He was originally drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1987, and played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers.

The Chicago Cubs issued the following statement about the death of the Evanston, Illinois native.

"The Chicago Cubs are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Foster. Kevin was an Evanston native who gave five seasons to his Chicago Cubs, twice reaching double digits in victories with 12 wins in 1995 and 10 wins in 1997. He was very popular with his teammates, the organization and fans, and he will be tremendously missed. The organization sends its heartfelt condolences to his entire family."

Foster's best season was in 1995, when he was 12-11 with a 4.51 ERA while pitching for the Cubs.
