Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Thrashers agreed to terms with forward Angelo Esposito on a multi-year contract Friday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Esposito appeared in 56 games for the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season, racking up 30 goals and 69 points. The 19- year-old also skated in one game for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. The Montreal native was selected by the Penguins with the 20th overall pick in the 2007 draft and that was considered late for the player who at one point was considered to be the leading candidate to go first overall. Esposito was dealt to the Thrashers in a trade-deadline deal on February 26 along with Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen and a first-round pick in the 2008 draft for star forward Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis. During his brief junior career, Esposito was honored as the QMJHL's top offensive rookie in 2005-06, and was tabbed as the league's best pro prospect two years ago.
