Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - The
New Jersey Nets will look to nail down their best start in franchise history when they take on the
Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center this evening.
New Jersey's 4-0 start has matched its best ever set during the 1997-98 campaign. The Nets have been emphatically beating their foes, posting an average win of 13.5 points.
Byron Scott's club is coming off its most impressive win of the year as it registered a 106-82 thumping of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. Richard Jefferson led five Nets in double figures with 22 points, while Lucious Harris added 16 in the victory.
Jefferson drilled 8-of-13 shots from the field and the Nets played excellent team defense in the victory.
"I knew what I was capable of doing," said Jefferson, who was given the starting nod after Keith Van Horn was dealt to Philadelphia. "My teammates and coaches knew what I was capable of doing. That's why they put me in that position. I'm not doing anything amazing."
Jason Kidd netted 10 points and dished out 12 assists in the thumping, while Kerry Kittles chipped in 14 points and Kenyon Martin added 13.
Milwaukee posted its first victory of the year on Monday when it tallied a 97-88 comeback win over the struggling New York Knicks. Sam Cassell led the way with 22 points and Michael Redd tacked on 19 off the bench.
Ray Allen tossed in 17 points and rookie center Dan Gadzuric corralled a team- high 10 rebounds. Tim Thomas mustered 12 points in the winning effort as well.
The Nets won two of three meetings between these clubs last year. However, the Bucks have won five of the last seven contests in this series over the last two years.
The Bucks have dominated the Nets at home over the years, winning four in a row and five of the last six overall. Milwaukee owns a 63-50 advantage in the all-time series.
