Phoenix Suns attempt to extend their winning streak to five games, as they visit the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at the Rose Garden.
All-Star Amare Stoudemire finished with a game-high 30 points and 10 rebounds to lift Phoenix to a convincing 127-99 win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday at US Airways Center.
Gordan Giricek scored 23 points off the bench for the Suns, who have won four games in a row and are just one game behind the Lakers for first place in the Pacific Division. Phoenix is also fifth in the West standings.
Two-time MVP Steve Nash poured in 18 points and dished out eight assists, while Shaquille O'Neal collected 17 points and eight rebounds for Phoenix, which is 7-6 with Shaq in the lineup.
Phoenix is a solid 19-12 on the road this season. The Suns will visit rookie phenom Kevin Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday at KeyArena. In injury news for the Suns, forward Grant Hill is probable for Tuesday's game due to a sprained right wrist.
Portland plays the middle contest of a three-game homestand tonight. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 points to lead the Trail Blazers in a 107-96 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday at the Rose Garden.
Brandon Roy added 25 points and nine assists in the victory for the Trail Blazers, who have won four of their last six games overall. Travis Outlaw chipped in 17 points off the bench, while James Jones netted 13 and Jarrett Jack ended with 10 points.
The Trail Blazers are 23-9 at home this season. They will host the Clippers on Friday at the Rose Garden.
This is the second meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On March 4, Stoudemire scored 22 points and Nash netted 19 as the Suns held off the Trail Blazers, 97-92, at the Rose Garden.
The Suns have won seven in a row overall in this series and four straight at Portland.
Phoenix is scheduled to host the Blazers on April 16 at US Airways Center.
