Dallas Mavericks try to extend their season- best winning streak to eight games when they visit the
Sacramento Kings tonight at ARCO Arena.
Jerry Stackhouse's buzzer-beating three-pointer capped a fourth-quarter comeback and gave the Mavericks their seventh straight victory, 95-94, over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday at the Staples Center.
Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki finished with 22 points and guard Jason Terry registered 20 points in the win for the Mavericks, who have won three in a row as the visitor.
Dallas is 9-8 on the road this season. The Mavericks will host rookie phenom Kevin Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
Sacramento tries to bounce back from a tough loss, as it wraps up a four-game homestand against Dallas. Mike Dunleavy scored 23 points and was one of seven players in double figures as the Indiana Pacers outlasted the Kings, 111-105, at ARCO Arena.
Kevin Martin returned after missing 17 contests with a groin injury and finished with a game-high 25 points for Sacramento, which had a two-game winning streak halted. Francisco Garcia collected 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Brad Miller added 14 points and 15 rebounds in defeat.
The Kings are 10-9 at home this season. After tonight's game, they will embark on a three-game road trip at Toronto, Detroit and Indiana.
This is the second meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On November 3rd, Josh Howard chipped in 27 points and seven rebounds as the Mavericks earned a 123-102 victory over the Kings in their home opener at American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks have won six in a row in the series. Dallas has also won three of four and four of its last six at Sacramento.
